Monthly Service Charge Collection for Safe Water
Monthly Service Charge Collection system (for Safe Water) has started in four Unions (Jhikargachha, Magura, Panisara and Shankarpur Union) of Jhikargachha Upazila.
Eight Union Parishads (Jhikargachha, Magura, Panisara, Shankarpur, Hajirbagh, Ganganandapur, Gadkhali & Nirbaskhola Union) have created safe water supply plan by using safe water device location map and arsenic contamination map through safe water supply plan workshop.
17 safe water devices are constructed according to the safe water supply plan (by using priority list of needy area) in 5 Unions at Jhikargachha Upazila.
MBSWSS project has repaired 38 damaged safe water devices from 6 Unions of Jhikargachha Upazila. Project realized that water table is go down during dry season in Jhikargachha Upazila. To solve this problem, project invente AponPump. It is necessary to stop the installation of DTW with 6no hand pump in Jhikargachha Upazila. Before installation of DTW, it needs to consider the water availability of whole yearand suitable type of pump. In case of new installation Moon pump is one of the nice solutions to avoid dry season problem in low water table area. In case of existing hard/inactive DTWswith 6no hand pump in dry season, thosecan be
renovated by using Apon Pump.
Eight Union Parishads (Jhikargachha, Magura, Panisara, Shankarpur, Hajirbagh, Ganganandapur, Gadkhali & Nirbaskhola Union) of Jhikargachha Upazila have recruited Pani Paridarshak for Safe Water Device maintanance, repaire & water quality checking.
